Summaries are generated by AI. Skim the original if a detail is critical.

This free AI text summarizer condenses long text into the format you actually need: a tight paragraph for reports, bullet points for meeting notes and email threads, or a single TL;DR line for chat. It keeps every load-bearing fact, number, name and decision while cutting the filler, and it never adds opinions or invents details that were not in the original. Because it answers in the language of your input, it works just as well on French articles or Spanish emails as on English ones.

Frequently asked questions

Is this text summarizer free?

Yes, completely. There is no account to create and no paywall on longer texts within the 12,000 character limit. It is one of the free tools we publish alongside Mail Merge for Gmail.

How long can the text be?

Up to 12,000 characters, which is roughly 2,000 words or a long article. For longer documents, summarize them in sections and then paste the section summaries back in for a final pass.

Will the summary add things that were not in my text?

The AI is explicitly instructed to keep only facts from your input and never add opinions or invented details. As with any AI tool, skim the output against the original when a number or commitment really matters.

Which format should I choose?

Use the paragraph for reports and articles where flow matters, bullet points for action items and email threads where you need to scan facts quickly, and the TL;DR when you just need one sentence to drop into a chat or a subject line.

Does it work in languages other than English?

Yes. The summarizer answers in the same language as the text you paste, so a German article comes back with a German summary. Mixed-language input is summarized in the dominant language of the text.

Can I use it to shorten emails before sending a campaign?

That is one of the best uses. Long emails get skimmed or skipped, so pasting your draft and asking for bullet points shows you what actually matters in it. Recipients read short, specific emails, and shorter messages also avoid Gmail clipping.

Ready to send emails people actually read?

Mail Merge for Gmail sends personalized campaigns right from Google Sheets, with tracking, scheduling and follow-ups.
