This Gmail generator creates alternative versions of your existing Gmail address using two tricks Google supports natively. First, Gmail ignores dots in the local part, so john.smith@gmail.com and johnsmith@gmail.com are the same inbox. Second, anything after a plus sign is ignored too, so johnsmith+shopping@gmail.com also reaches you. Frequently asked questions
Do all these generated addresses really reach my inbox?
Yes. Gmail ignores dots in the part before the @ sign and ignores everything after a plus sign. Google delivers mail sent to any dot or plus variant of your address straight to your normal inbox, with no setup required.
What are Gmail dot variants?
Gmail treats john.smith, jo.hn.smith, and johnsmith as the same account, because dots in the local part carry no meaning. An address with n letters has 2 to the power of n minus 1 possible dot placements, which is why short addresses already produce hundreds of variants.
What is a plus-tag alias useful for?
Add +anything before @gmail.com when you register on a website, for example yourname+netflix@gmail.com. If that alias later receives spam, you know exactly who leaked or sold your address, and you can filter or block that alias in one click.
Can I send email from these aliases?
You can. In Gmail go to Settings, then Accounts, and add the alias under "Send mail as". Since the alias belongs to your own account, no verification email round trip is needed for plus and dot variants.
Do some websites reject plus signs in email addresses?
Some sign-up forms incorrectly reject the + character even though it is valid per the email standard. When that happens, use a dot variant instead. Dot variants look like completely normal addresses and pass every form validation.
Can I use aliases to send bulk email campaigns?
